The Relentless Student: Pro Tips from the Property Flippers

Neri, founder of E&C Buildings, has been a loyal Spring Valley Bank customer and a relentless student of real estate since 2014. Originally from Mexico, he moved to the area in 2004 and built his career in commercial construction as a carpenter. A decade later, he caught the “financial freedom” bug and immersed himself in every book, podcast, and resource he could find. One theme kept surfacing: real estate.

With his construction background and a growing conviction that real estate was his path forward, Neri spent three years preparing for his first investment. In 2017, he finally took the leap to purchase a property at the right price, rallying a community of skilled craftsmen, and leaning on both financial support from his father‑in‑law and unwavering encouragement from his family. That first flip didn’t just turn a profit; it gave him the confidence to keep going. He rolled the proceeds into his next project and never looked back.

By 2021, Neri stepped away from commercial carpentry to flip full‑time. He was supported by a trusted team of subcontractors he’d built relationships with over the years. He also launched AR Interiors, a home‑remodeling contracting business, to keep steady work flowing. His wife earned her Ohio real estate license to help mine deals and reduce commission costs. He uses his village wisely.

Here is a list of just a few successful deals E&C Building have financed with Spring Valley Bank:

Tips from the Property Flipper

When asked what he’s learned along the way, Neri keeps it simple:

Education matters. Read, network, and learn constantly so you’re prepared when opportunity shows up.

Take action. Fear held me back early on, but the only way through it is to just start.

Have a purpose. My purpose is delivering quality homes to new families. At times that offsets the profit, but it fulfills my mission.

The Financer

Neri prioritizes efficiency by focusing his projects near his home. This strategy allows him to be an expert at pricing properties, streamlines his material logistics and enhances his own community.
